March Resolutions & Failure

Wowzers! The month of  February went by really quick! If you have not been following my blog this year let me catch you up.  Very simply, I am setting 3-4 resolutions per month instead of yearly resolutions. In February there were four resolutions that I focused on:

1. letting people finish their sentences and not interrupting.
2. keeping my eyes on my own plate.
3. Recover and get more sleep
4. use my time more wisely.

On a scale of 1 to 4, I give myself a 2.5.  Resolutions number one and four I absolutely nailed!  Numbers two and three could use more effort so they will be carried over into March.  Progress not perfection.

I don't want to get ahead of myself only two months into the new year but, I feel pretty darn successful!  My January resolves are still present too.   The gym has seen me at least 2-3 times a week and I am drinking water like it is my part-time job.

For March:
1.  I will continue to work on rest and recovery... most of us athletes suck at that anyway
2.  Keep eyes on my own plate  "Comparison is the thief of joy"
3.  Work on Relationship..... with a family member that is long overdue. Someone I have let fall to the side and have not made time for. Life is passing by at warp speed, if not now, when?
4.  Keep climbing the NASM mountain (Certified Personal Trainer)

Study Central. Used 200 index cards so far!

Just a moment ago I said I felt pretty successful.....

Cheers to success, reality and failure, all in one blog!  If there is one thing I hate....it's when I am unable to reach a goal in my set time.  Back in late January I started to study for my NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer course.  Holy moly, it is like learning a new language! Wife-ing, Mom-ing, working, Training, Coaching, and studying was a lot to take on.  Within a month I was fried. Something had to give, I chose to slow my roll with the CPT course.  Initially I was upset with myself for not being a smart Wonder Woman type but, I got past those feelings and accepted that I cannot do it all. Looking to my future I know it was the right decision and will make me a better personal trainer.

Today I took a quiz and passed so I get to move on to the MIDTERM!  I am giving myself 2 weeks (or less) to take it. Hell, it could take me longer if  being a  Wife, Mom, Grandma,  Athlete or Coach gets in the way. Priorities. Gotta have priorities.
