Gravel For The Love Of It PART TWO - The Details! 2018

Do you want to start 2018 off right?  Join us for Gravel For the Love of It - Part Two!  This is a fundraiser for Crossroads Elementary.  Every dollar raised will be put into the LOVE Fund, which loves on kids whose families are going through tough times.  The LOVE fund helps pay for school lunches, field trips, etc.... Last year Two Thousand dollars was raised! 
You get a feel good moment and a chance to ride your bicycle with friends.

Here are three suggested routes for this 2018.

Route ONE is roughly 13 miles and is perfect for beginners.  A mix of paved greenway trail and Katy and Hamburg trails.

Route TWO is near 25 miles.  A mix of paved greenway trail and Katy and Hamburg trails along with some August A Busch Conservation area roads.

Route THREE is nearly 40 miles.  All the above with little bit more of everything! This one is tricky, keep an eye on the route.

You are responsible for yourself, bring nutrition and water.
The suggested routes are NOT marked.
The roads used are open to motor vehicle traffic, follow the rules of the road while riding. Stay to the right. 
This is not a race.

Nothing Grows In The Comfort Zone

"All of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them".  -Walt Disney Comfort zone:  A place or situation where one feels safe or at ease without stress.  I hate to admit this but I am completely ruled by my habits and my routines.  By having these habits and routines I have made my life very comfortable, very safe and easy. In fact, I have made it too comfortable.  One day this past January I had a thought... My life is cozy like a warm fuzzy blanket from the dryer, it's become too casual and too small.  As humans we are wired to be creatures of comfort, enjoy what feels good, settle in and relax. Once we get comfortable we tend to forget to try new things.  I have forgotten to try new things, especially those I am fearful of. Lauf Grit Takes On The DK200

This post almost got lost. I found it in the archives and thought it would be good to post since my Warbird is still rockin' the Lauf Grit fork.  I LOVE IT!   Dear Guys and Gals at Lauf, First of all I want to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your Dirty Dozen Team.  You all sure hand picked a STELLAR group of individuals to represent the Lauf Grit Garvel Fork! I can say that with confidence because I know most of the Dirty Dozen personally. In fact, I finished my 1st DK200 with Chad (in 2012), a couple years I was able to ride with Bobby (until he got speedy), Chris and I rode together last year and finished within a few minutes of each other (and I know his wife), Don B. is a good friend and magnificent cheerleader (going for a Goblet!), Jimmy is a first-rate fella I have ridden with at a couple DK's and sadly one year I passed him 'relaxing" in a ditch.
